How should I prepare for my Dexa Scan?
Fast for at least 2 hours prior to your scan.
Limit physical activity (no exercise, please!) and stay hydrated.
Wear athletic attire or casual clothing without any metal.
Empty your pockets and remove any metal items, including watches, belts, glasses, and jewelry.
Avoid taking calcium supplements within 24 hours prior to the scan.
Do not have any gastrointestinal contrast, barium, or other contrast mediums and radionuclides within 48 hours of your appointment.
About the Scan: During the scan, you’ll relax on an open-air DEXA scan table. The process is fast, non-invasive, and involves minimal radiation. Designed with your comfort in mind, the DexaFit scan provides valuable insights into your body composition.
How should I prepare for my RMR?
Fast for at least 5 hours before your test (water is fine).
Limit physical activity beforehand (no exercise).
Avoid caffeine or stimulants on the day of your test, and refrain from consuming alcohol within 12 hours prior.
Wear comfortable clothing. Casual or business attire is also fine, as you’ll simply be relaxing in a chair during the test.
How should I prepare for my VO2MAX?
Fast for at least 3 hours before your test (water is fine).
Limit physical activity before your visit (no exercise).
Avoid caffeine or stimulants on the day of your test.
Wear workout clothes and athletic shoes as the test will be performed on a treadmill or bike.
What does a Dexa Scan report measure?
A DEXA body composition assessment report provides you with your total body weight, body fat percentage, fat mass, lean muscle mass, visceral fat and bone mineral content for the whole body, as well as waist and hip region, arms legs and trunk.
What are the contraindications for a Dexa Scan?
Pregnancy
Recently had gastrointestinal contrast or radionuclides
Severe degenerative changes or fracture deformity in the measurement area
Inability to attain the correct position and/or remain motionless for the measurement

Can I pay for DEXA scan with FSA/HSA?
Yes, DEXA Scans are eligible for reimbursement with flexible spending accounts (FSA), health savings accounts (HSA), and health reimbursement accounts (HRA). They are not eligible for reimbursement with dependent care flexible spending accounts and limited-purpose flexible spending accounts (LPFSA).
